2015 GMC Terrain brakes

1 of my daughters is living in Ky and had her brakes replaced at a regular type brake shop, she spent extra $ to have ceramic pads installed and has a squeaking sound when she applies the brakes, it had the squeak before also, would it need the grease on the back side of the pads? seems like the brake place could fix it but they've only offered to put cheaper pads on, I said "I think ceramic pads need to break in, I think" what do you guys think? has new front rotors, fronts are squeaking

Re: 2015 GMC Terrain brakes

A lot of today's pads have a shim/pad on the back side of the brake pad, but I always apply something to that area, usually anti-squeal spray. Are the pads beveled on the edges?? I have done hundreds of brake jobs and none squeal when quality pads are used. Do you know the brand??

Re: 2015 GMC Terrain brakes

I'll ask what brand pads and also have her ask about the bevel, also she said it was a general repair shop not a brake only shop, I misunderstood her, then she said it was still under warranty from where she bought the car but they're really expensive (so what warranty right?) I told her to take the car back to where the work was done, she was thinking of taking it back to the dealer she bought it from to have them try to fix it, I said no they'll only charge you more $ since they didn't do the brakes to begin with, sorry for the long question and TIA
