Astro Van Driver Side Mirror Glass...

The driver side mirror glass on my mom's Astro van was barely hanging on. So, I pulled the glass off of the plastic backing plate (it was being held on in one corner only). I need to know what the proper product is that I can use to reattach the glass to the backing plate. There are 4 round areas on the backing plate where the factory adhesive was. I got the back of the glass almost ready, but I can't get any more of the adhesive off of the backing plate without getting aggressive with the scraper (and that will break the plastic). If anyone knows which product will work the best, your input will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

DOW 795 silicone. Any other silicone will eat the silvering off in time.

Re: Astro Van Driver Side Mirror Glass...

I used regular two part epoxy to glue one back in on my son's G F's Astro Van but she only kept the van about a year after that so I don't know how long it held.
