Doubt about steering wheel

Hi guys, I have a doubt, maybe a little silly, I don't speak English so it is difficult for me to understand a bit, I liked a steering wheel that is for chevelle 67-68, however I have a chevelle 65 with its original column Could you make it work? or do they really change? I looked for some for 65 chevelle but I still like the one in the photo. Finally, this steering wheel includes what is necessary to operate the horn with the new center button, right? Thank you.

Re: Doubt about steering wheel

It looks like a Grant adapter kit, check their website to see if itís the same as that for the 67-68. If itís not ask the company selling the steering wheel if they will substitute the correct one for your application.

Thanks Steve, finally, my horn is currently connected but the original center is not making contact because the parts are already worn out, with this new steering wheel will I forget that problem? that is, the contact horn will now be with the small cable?

Re: Doubt about steering wheel

I have a 70 El Camino non-tilt column and had to switch to a different turn signal cancelling cam to get my turn signals and horn to function. I had the wire to the horn button contacts before changing steering wheels but had to switch to the cancelling cam with the spring loaded horn button inside the post of the cam. For me, I needed "Original Parts Group pn CH30891" for a cancelling cam / horn post. It will be a different part number for you.

The picture you post above does not show a cancelling cam / horn post for either a tilt or a non tilt column at least as far as I can see in the Original Parts Group catalog. You, I think would need OPG pn PF8231A for a tilt column or PF8231B for non tilt - both less than $40 USD plus shipping in the OPGI catalog.

Keep those questions coming here. We can help you.

Don,
If you go to the website where you found that part and look up the part number it may also fit a 65.If you post the part number we could check for you too.It looks like it should fit but to be sure we need the part number.
