UMI front springs on '70s

Hi,

Been Googling this but nothing clear, so just three questions:

1) Is the flat end of the spring up or down? Based on the UMI sticker I thought down, but the cup in the wishbone is stepped.

2) There is a rubber cushion in the wishbone, but at the top in the frame, it's just metal on metal, is that correct?

3) The wishbones are not marked left or right, and it is not mentioned in the instructions, but I'm assuming that need to point forward?

Thanks in advance

Cheers

P.S. I don't apear to be able to edit, but the car is a 1970, not '80 as the subject implies.

The flat end on the front springs always goes on top.

The bottom end of the spring should be between the two holes in the lower control arm - just a little short of the second hole.

The rear springs have a rubber insulator on top.

Mine is a 67 - I think this info applies to all others but I'm not sure.

67 Chevelle convertible, 138 vin, original 4 speed, bucket seats, Marina Blue with black interior

Thanks, it did seem odd, I don't know why they've put the stickers upside down.

Ok, I've lost those and the UMI kit doesn't appear to come with one.

Thanks

Re: UMI front springs on '70s

The stickers are upside down because UMI sources their springs from a vendor and the vendor puts the sticker on however they want. I got that info right off of the UMI instruction sheet that came with my springs.

Re: UMI front springs on '70s

True on the stickers, unfortunately. The flat goes up in all cases and the open coil goes on the bottom.

Strangely enough, our springs are sourced from a place that builds a majority of the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup springs. Awesome quality, not awesome on sticker placement...

Any questions on anything, hit me at [email protected]

thx
