Similar, but not the same. If you use a telescoping steering shaft, it will be 1" DD at the steering column and 3/4" DD at the rag joint.

Step 1. Remove 3 mounting screws of the turn signal switch mechanism



Step 2. Slide the retainer sleeve from the column jacket


Step 3. Pull the turn signal switch and cup away from the column. The wiring harness half moon plug will slide through the shifter collar.


Reassemble in reverse order. You'll discover that the cup must be aligned with the tabs on the jacket to secure the assembly.

I should have asked, any wear items I should replace at this point, or spots to add some grease/other lubricant?

Grease the upper bearing and lower bearing. Nothing else to do.
