Jeggs Moog 5103K ball Joint?

Noticed the other day that one of the boots on my lower ball joint is kind of fractured, grease not leaking; but it looks like it won't be too long. This is on a 66 with original suspension with ball joints and control arm bushing replaced about 10 years ago. Only change is I replaced the sway bar with a 1 1/4 bar.

The Jeggs site says it made in the usa. Is this a good choice? Car is street driven about 1000 miles a year. Thanks,

Energy suspension used to offer dust boots for ball joints, it might be worth a few minutes to root through their catalog and see if they are still available.

OUCH! That hurts.

If you lend someone $20, and never see that person again, it was probably worth it.

Was it one of the problem solver ball joints? I know there is an R series that isn't made in the USA.

1000 miles a year? A band aid and a zip tie could do the job.

Alex not 100% sure, but I think it was just regular BJ. It did have serrations around the base, if that helps.

Geoff, looks like I need to start checking my boxes better. I found this link... Where are Moog parts made? The answer may surprise you! - Suspension.com
I have 4 Moog's for my S10 in the shop that I am about to go check.

Jim_66SS , to answer your question Yes Moog "problem solvers" are good pieces. I will not use a cheap store brand in anything anymore after putting cheaper ones in a dodge truck and having both lowers snap after about 7 months. I have had 0 returns after using Moog's. Also, if you do just want to replace the boots, Rockauto has a set for your car that is under $10 shipped. Has both upper and lowers in the kit.
