67 Cowl Tag Decode Help

I have just about all of this tag figured but am a little puzzled by a few of the numbers on the cowl. I have bolded what I am unclear on -- here's what I have:

General Motors Corporation

04D

ST 67-13617 BF15137 Body

TR 759 RR Paint

46202 020140

Body By Fisher

04D = ??December 4th?? - Not sure on this one

67-13617 = a 1967 Malibu 8 Cylinder, 2 Door Sport Coupe

BF = Fremont Plant

15137 = Production number

TR 759 = Interior - Black Rocina Cloth/Vinyl

46202 = ??????? Uncertain ????????

020140 = ????? Again - no idea ????

Thanks again for your wisdom!

Chris

04D- April, 4th Week (Build Date)
46202- Order number from dealer order sheet
020140- Probably an Identification number found on Trim & Body Broadcast Sheets

Also, the 15137 is not a production number, but a Fisher Body Unit Number.

Re: 67 Cowl Tag Decode Help

Thanks Ethan.

Forgot to mention the Paint RR which is obviously Bolero Red.

Appreciate the help. Just trying to learn as much as I can about my ride. It's come a long way in the few years that I've owned it!

Sounds like you have a nice Chevelle.

BTW, '67 Chevelle's are my second favorite model year.

This could also be a 6 cyl engine. If your check your VIN and it is 135, it came with a 6 cyl, if it's 136, it came with a V8, (if it's 138, it's a 396 - but itwould also show 138 on the cowl tag if that were the case)

VIN is a 13617 so looks like it came with an 8 cyl - probably a 283. When I purchased the car it had a '77 454 with a '68 Saginaw 4 speed. Now has a period correct fresh 396 with '67 Muncie .

Removed the original column which was a three on the tree and replaced with a rebuilt '67 SS column.
