Re: 1972 Muncie M22

I don't suppose I could get you folks to edumacate me about which engines/trim packages were most likely to wind up with an M22? I am guessing they must have been putting big blocks in the Camaros still. But were there really any power plants in '72 worth warranting a Rock Crusher?

1966 Charger (383, 727 Torqueflight)
1970 SS 454 Chevelle (LS5+2, M22, 3.31 12 bolt)
1971 Malibu (350, M22, 3.31 12 Bolt)

I'm looking for a girl with a car, and a house..........with cable.

Re: 1972 Muncie M22

maybe from a Z/28.
The LT1 350 was still pretty strong in 1972 although comp was down from 1970.

One chart shows the Z was rated higher hp then the SS396
the Z at 255 hp, 280 torque and the SS396 at 240 hp, 345 torque

Re: 1972 Muncie M22

Thanks, Joe. That is basically what I was after. I wasn't sure if they still offered an SS 396 then or not. After all I am a Chevelle person. I would take a '70 Camaro though. Hopefully this will be in the '70 by this weekend. I am going to pull down the original M22 again and get this hang up down shifting into second gear ,hopefully, worked out.
