Question can somebody tell me what ive got ?

i just bought a 350 minus carb and a muncie 4 speed , i know the muncie is a m-20 but im trying to figure out the engine , info is block casing # 3970010 , head casting # 3973487 , # stamped on front of block VO814TBC . i havent opened it up yet but it suppost to have 4 bolt mains and a steel crank , rebuilt with 12k miles . the heads are studded and have guide plated but i cant tell if its factory . thanks for any info

V- Flint, Michigan (Engine Plant)
0814- August, 14th
TBC- '70 350 255hp Truck Engine

3970010- '69-'79 350

3973487- '68-'72 350

By the block casting number should be a date code. That will give you the date of the engine. Also, on the front of the block, there should be a VIN number on it, too. This could also give you the date as well.
