Decode Dist. (1970 Chevelle) Please

Hi Guys,

I would like to find out for sure if the dist. in my car is the original one.

I was using a mirror when I read these, so I hope I have them right.
Heres are the #'s 0002111 0C18
I believe 0C18 breaks down like this? 0=1970 C= March 18= 18th Day?

The build date for my car is 5/29/70

Thanks,
Brian

Brian,
If you reverse your mirror reading, the number becomes the correct one for a 1970 402/350 Horse with automatic. That is: 1112000. They also used that number distributor in the 402/375 earlier in the year before the option was cancelled. Your date break down is as you said.

Brian, I think you have the numbers "mirror imaged". I find a #1112000 for a '70 Chevelle/Camaro/Nova 402 350 hp automatic and 375 hp. You're right on the mfd date, March 18, 1970.
