69 cj code th400 - Chevelle Tech

69 cj code th400

Picked this trans up recently. Seller wasn't sure if it was original to his 69 ss el camino. I looked up the code and it says 396/402 truck. Do they consider a el camino a truck? Or did this trans come out of a regular pick em up? Jim

Here's some information from another site. It would appear that the CJ code is for a standard 1/2 ton or 3/4 ton pickup. A 1969 Chevelle or El Camino would be code CC.

The TH400 in my 396/325 '68 El Camino SS is coded CC.

thanks Greg, I'll see if it's got a bolt on yoke. did the trucks have a bolt in yoke in 69?
