need help 65 trim tag - Chevelle Tech
Tag Team De-coding cowl tags and vin numbers.

need help 65 trim tag

trying to help an older friend figure out his trim tag on 65 he just bought looking for info from bottom line
i found tinted windshield, 4 speed and rear antennae can anyone help out with what the #s mean? https://www.chevelles.com/forums/att...587722&thumb=1

I can tell you that 08A = it was assembled sometime in the first week of August, if you go to the upper right corner of the screen and clic on tech, you can find more info on the rest of the numbers. Good luck

thanks I looked at that already but it didn't explain what the 2&5 were meaning

The 2 and 5 are just markers for different option categories. The useful information is the "W", "L" and "S" as well as the trim code "707" and paint code "S-S".

OK thank you he said car was low options can anyone speculate what engine one might have? car appears to have factory 12 bolt 327-300 hp or?

The only way that I know of that tells what hp the engine came with from the factory is to look at the Protect-o-Plate for that car.

Or to have the numbers matching engine still with the car.

If the 12 bolt is original to the car (which can be hard to tell definitively) it pretty much means a 327. But which 327? No way to tell.
