Re: LS6 Build Date

Be sure that the tach is an original. They do reproduce 3 screw tachs now. It could also have been a L78, 375 HP 396 car. They used the same tach as a LS6 car.

If it's not real, we can make it one.

True, but wouldn't the build date dictate which engine?

Couple of junkers and a few clunkers.

Re: LS6 Build Date

Yes, I guess the date would indicate which engine could have been there originally.

The guy is supposed to rack it for me this afternoon so I can see the rear end casts and stamps. It has some good stuff in it. Two piece steering shaft with manual steering. Cowl harness is still there and it was an original 4 speed. Hoping for a CRV or CRW rear in it. No back seat but the door panels are there.

I assume this is a non-original interior? Never seen Cloth bucket seats in any 64-72 Chevelle - just vinyl.

I misread Dales site.

796 on trim tag, Metallic coated green buckets. It has a mint set of black ones in it.

Couple of junkers and a few clunkers.

Re: LS6 Build Date

Going to pass on it for 10K.

Rear was 1969 KK rear. Ladder bars were welded over date code. If it was a CRW or CRV rear I would have bought it. Rear was a 124 casting. Solid car though.

Couple of junkers and a few clunkers.
