Thanks! He said it was cool on the phone, then turned into an A-hole about it once I got there. Something else that is interesting. He also had a ‘69 Camaro that he SWORE was a Z/28. It had a six cylinder vin, and a Cowl tag that looked like it had been dragged behind a truck, that had an X44 on it. I told him it had a six cylinder vin, and an automatic, which Z’s never had. He didn’t like that much, either! Very nice car though.

I’m thankful that my car hunting is over, as is my wife!

Re: Vin and Cowl tag do not match.

Theres a lot those cars out there like that. I know people that drive cars with no vin. Others with homemade vins. I would never touch those cars.

The hunt is always fun. But get old when all you deal with is dreamers and liars.

Congrats on your new car. You definately made the right move. Sounds like the seller of the original 67 turned out to be full of it. There is most likely one reason why he would not let you investigate further. He knows what you were going to find.

Here she is! Same owner for 36 years. And... The vin anc cowl match, AND it’s a Kansas Coty built L code car. For me, I hit the jackpot.

Re: Vin and Cowl tag do not match.

Here is a 66 with a B vin and an ATL cowl tag. Notice wrong rivets on Vin tag.

cowl tag indicated bronze paint and a automatic. Do you think it is even from the same car? Rust condition good frame, hood, etc, ???

This individual needs to be turned in to the local police. Sounds like hes trying to make money with fraudulent vehicles.
