Engine Decode

hey all,
i'm new to chevys, and i'm tryin to decode a chevelle/malibu that i'm considering buying. i've been able to find everything i need to decode the numbers i have so far online, save one, the most important: the engine code. i found the original protecto-plate for the car, and the engine code line is as follows:

T1021NN

now, i know the first letter is the plant and the 4 digits are the date, but what does NN decode as? i cant find it anywhere. thanks for the help in advance!

Re: Engine Decode

i'm positive about the NN. i took a picture of the plate, which matched the door vin number, and it clearly T1021NN. strange that its not listed...

Re: Engine Decode

I think it is really CNN for '70 350/250hp 2bl L-65. When C was the common prefix letter not unusual to drop the first letter on POP. You can find other examples of this missing C on some of the 70 POP's on Dale's web site here

Edit: You can also get good general SS ID info here
