Re: 1964 Chevelle Build Thread

Spent a few minutes on Thursday flipping the fan over.. was spinning the wrong way. Installed backwards.

It happens. Now that it's corrected I see a significant difference in how the the engine is cooled.

Instead of the factory air, have you considered Vintage Air?

Hey Clint,

Don't really care about AC in the classic cars. Yes it's very hot and humid here but it's just not a priority.

The daily drivers have ice cold ac. Maybe we'll do vintage air someday. Need to get the BB and TKO in it first.

I wouldn't own a car without a/c. Doesn't get really humid here but does get hot.
Life's too short to be unhappy or uncomfortable,I guess.

Clint,

Understood. However it's just not a necessity to me/us. Maybe someday. I prefer fresh air anyway.. even if it's on the warm side!

Nice car Leo. Love the choice of wheels. I like your plans for the car.

On a side note, I always wanted one of those model M5's. Loved them from the day they hit the market.

Dan,

Thanks for the kind words man! Excited for where the car is going too. Sounds like the drivetrain is going to be a winter project.. need time and $$$.

The m5 is an amazing car. Mine is a 2000 in Avus blue with black extended leather interior. Pretty uncommon car. No rust! 125k miles.

I ran into some trouble with it yesterday actually. Went to install a big brake kit made specifically for the car with stock wheels. Wheels don't clear calipers.. determined my stock wheels are just so old and warped they contact in certain places. Big bummer.. car is still in pieces in the garage forcing the Impala outside in the gloomy weather!!!

Anyway, it's a hell of a car. Plenty fast, real comfortable and handles well. Has a proper exhaust kit, intakes, tune etc etc.

Thanks dan!!!

Dan-o,

Where you located? Come out to the Cape and take it for a cruise! I'll leave the keys in it.
