Would you share the names of the shops good and bad.

Re: Getting back in the game. 67 Malibu

CTBlown67, Great looking ride. The bike too.
I'll be restarting my 67 project shortly. I've been replacing sheet metal, but only lately I have been spooling back up to work on it. Been working on getting my 77 Z drivable. Here is a pic of when it first came out of an old closed 1970's wrecking yard, and where it was when I stopped last summer to finish my Camaro. Long story. I'll share it once I learn where the proper place is here on Team Chevelle to start the build thread/forum/garage. Any recommendations where?

Keep us informed on you progress. Really looks good.

The shop I pulled it from is no longer in business so no point in kicking a dead horse, the new shop is a private guy who only does cars of his choice.

Bluesky, that looks like a solid foundation to work with, Id start a build thread right in this section.

There has been steady progress on the car, I have been collecting parts and finished the seats. The paintwork is 99% done now and looks amazing, just needs to be cut and buffed. Pretty sure I will have the body back before next weekend when I will drop the motor and tranny in it and then start wiring.

Getting there, body and most panels now cut and buffed. Shouldn't be too much longer till I can bring it home.

Looks great!

Tighten it till it strips and back it off a quarter turn.

Bodywork and paint look great. A little intimidating seeing that in your rear view mirror.. that’s bad ass.

Drove it out of the garage under its own power for the first time in over 35 years today.

Re: Getting back in the game. 67 Malibu

I really like it but would probably go with some sort of lower profile air cleaner/scoop.

Awesome build.

Tighten it till it strips and back it off a quarter turn.

Re: Getting back in the game. 67 Malibu

Exhaust is done, 3 inch flowmaster mandrel bent tailpipes, Borla ProXs mufflers, I ended up buying a couple 3 inch 90's and cut them in half to make 4 45 degree bends, then tig welded them back together to make offsets right off the collectors to be able to line the headers up with the humps in the crossmember, The 1 7/8 Dougs headers fit great, way better than the Hooker super comps I had on there first and are now in the corner of the shop after I got so frustrated with them thats where I threw them. The ground clearance is way better also, huge 3/8 flanges but the only issue is they dont line up with the humps in the crossmember. Just have to figure out why the one of the brand new carbs is running so rich it will foul the plugs at idle.
