Re: 67 off frame progress

Very awesome. You make it look so easy. I have to do a rear qtr on my 67, but too nervous to tear into it. Have you tried any NPD sheetmetal? I think I might use them since they are in Detroit, about 3 hrs from me.

Re: 67 off frame progress

No i didnt get any sheet metal from them. they probably sell dynacorn and that is what my quarters and floors are. I would go with AMD, there stuff seems to be better and thicker too. when i started my car AMD was just getting started. i have only used there roof and door skins so far. the roof was .005 thicker then the dynacorn quarter panels. that makes a big difference. good luck

Re: 67 off frame progress

I did the AMD quarter and it was made by Triplus. Fairly good quality, nice and heavy great lines where it counts. The back deck top side is narrower than stock and the front edge needed some help but other than that I was happy with it and in the end probably should have done both sides.

Re: 67 off frame progress

Here are a couple more pictures of what has been done. I finally got the trunk, and quarter extensions on and i'm pleased with how it turned out. I just put it back on the rotisserie and now I'm ready to finish welding, grinding, blasting all the area's I couldn't do with the body on the frame.

Re: 67 off frame progress

It looks like we are at about the same place in our rebuilds.

Looking good!

Here is a link if you are interested.

The facebook link ( https://www.facebook.com/mike.leary.144) is nothing but Car shows and my 67 rebuild and the link in my signature is to my photobucket page.

Re: 67 off frame progress

Mike,
Looks like you are about a year ahead of me... at least

What header's are you using, did you have to clear them for the steering shaft?

What disk brake kit did you use, front and rear?

Thanks
Brian
