Re: 1967 Chevelle 300 Deluxe Nantucket Blue
I decided to paint this car after all the work I have done on her. Plans are for my complete sanding, filling the imperfections, and sanding the car with 320 and 600 grit, I will now ask Clark Gick to give me his blessings on her now being ready for the booth. Thankfully, I found no rust under the places I sanding and filled....
Fresh coats of filling primer, Nantucket Blue (Valspar Products) and finally a few coats of ClearCoat. Then back to my shop for her nibbing, cut/buff to a wonderful shine....Oh yes....and a great amount of "Admiration Time"...

She is now ready for her new Nantucket Blue Paint and Clear Coat.
Have her prepped and masked. Clark Gick worked his magic on the hood to make her smooth....

Spent the day at Basic Body and Paint yesterday! What a nice day to spend with my friend Clark Gick! We worked on blocking the hood again along with all the spots Clark shot with etching primer. Then came time to Scotch-Brite the entire car, wipe her down with cleaner solution. Cleaned out the booth again....put her back in and proceeded to completely mask her for her new paint 💙🙏💙
Hopefully today she'll be transformed to the Beauty I had hoped for. Thanks Clark Gick for working again with this "65 year old man".....

Sweet. Nice to see how fast you & the shop worked together to get it done. That's the best way to avoid paint jail!
Is that a GTO next to the '67? I've been helping a buddy restore his '72 GTO off & on for a couple of years now.

We have had a great time working on her....I did most of the prep work in my shop and we finished her up in the booth in 2 days...
The "Blu" Pontiac in the background is a 1971 LeMans Sport that I restored before starting this Chevelle. It was a 2 1/2 year resto...my very first...and I had my hands on her constantly...from the underneath, interior, to the final cut and buff.....

Some of what is going on in the shop. Letting the body paint cure. Making small adjustments to the inner fenders. They were the wrong color. I prepped and masked...Clark mixed paint. I sprayed Nantucket Blue and Clear Coat. Also cleaned and painted radiator support semi gloss Black...Getting there...Interior work to begin soon...💙🙏💙

Made some serious headway on replacing all the felt, rubber, channel runs, etc. Also reinstalled both door glass along with the wings as well. Had to replace the stainless runners for the rear quarter glass. They are now curing and maybe tomorrow I'll have all the glass back in her and working....💙🙏💙
