Holley forward mounts 72 Chevelle

I’m installing my 2005 5.3 Truck engine in a 72 Chevelle, I purchased the forward biased mounts 1 1/4”, I thought that I could still use the factory low mount a/c compressor, but the mount hit the bracket So I had to remove it. What mount are you people using? I will probably go with a Sanderson compressor and vintage air.
I think I have the mount on right, I have measured twice, cut once... all new to me...
Thanks...

It looks like you should be able to grind a good amount of that mount away from the compressor mounting area. A number of people have put notches in the compressor mount as well.

Most of the Holley mounts that are being used on here are from their newer system that uses clamshell mounts rather than the original style.

These came with the Holley brackets, I did purchase the clamshell mounts, but seem to sit higher.

I have mocked up the factory a/c using the Holley forward biased mounts. I think one inch forward. I’ll try to attach a pic.

Re: Holley forward mounts 72 Chevelle

I'm also running the Holley forward bias mounts and my low mount Denso AC compressor does NOT hit anything. No grinding required. Though I did need an elbow adapter for the hoses coming out of the compressor. This elbow is a 36 buck part from the Nostalgic AC folks. Works great.

Its a 1999 5.3 liter motor in a 70 El Camino.

This is using an F-body Camaro set of engine mounts mated to the Holley forward bias mounts.
