Here's some current pics. The interior looks like a mess but they always do with no dash and wires everywhere. In the engine bay you can see I have the parellel flow condensor and f-body fans installed as well as that giant busbar under the giant alternator

I've purchased some fabrication tools along with this build and they have been invaluable. The little Miller 130a mig welder and harbor freight 3in1 sheet metal machine have been well worth it. Also a shot of the f-body seats and Hooker/Holley exhaust and fuel tank patiently waiting their day to shine

Re: Going lsx in a 72 El Camino

Wow I am wayyyy behind on updating this thread! There has been a TON of progress in the last couple months best of all being that IT STARTED RIGHT UP!!! I haven't been able to drive it yet because I'm waiting on a driveshaft. Pretty much everything is done except the ac system and making a center console. It seems to be running pretty good although it seems to leak down fuel pressure to 0 after about 2 hours. I did pull the injectors and activated them to run carb cleaner through but they may be still gummed up. I'm going to run some injector cleaner through it and put some miles on it and check again. Seems to run great. Starts right up both cold and hot and no codes. The real test will come when load is put on the motor. This has been a great learning experience and makes me thankful for the good part of the internet because without it there is no way I could have done this project. Hopefully my bank account can start healing now.
