Screwy fuel issues.....

I have a 70 chev Monte, 350 with a 4MV q-jet. It started cutting out at first, after a week it would hardly run at all. It will run good when first started, and after a minute it will start acting as if it is chocking out! Real rough idle.. then it dies. Wont start for a few mins, then will,,, but runs really rough. I rebuilt the carb (origional) Same issue. Replaced fuel pump, same issue.......

Any ideas?? I have a feeling the carb is just truely a goner....

Please let me know your ideas.

Before you spend a lot of money on a carburetor, check the ignition system.

I have checked the points, rotor and cap. Wires and have replaced the coil, Anything I might have over looked?

Re: Screwy fuel issues.....

If you have points there are condensers on the points and on the coil.
Replace them.
Keep the coil condenser if it is the original, and it may be as most people never replace them. Very hard to find the correct original part number.

Re: Screwy fuel issues.....

Also check the rubber hoses at the connection between the fuel tank and the lines to the front of the car.

Authentication and pre-purchase inspection service still available. PM me for more information.
