Keep us posted!
How does it "feel" to you?
Can you keep the spacer?

When the Hurricane was on the 355 in my Nova it had the same 60' as the AG, but the AG was almost 2 mph slower and almost a 10th slower in the 1/4.
Both combo's gained et and slowed down without the 1" open spacer.

Re: Intake Swap

Curious to see how it does.

I have a Weiand Team G that "may" replace my Stealth soon.

When I yanked the transmission out last weekend, I saw a decent oil leak at rear of intake manifold, so if it has to come off anyway.......

Chris, don't know how it feels, late when we got finished, loaded it in trailer because of foul weather coming in, starts ALOT easier and sounds a little snappier , I had it on there befor it dropped a vlave couple years ago and put the stealth on after rebuild , just to see, but rebuilt engine with more compression this time so no REAL comparison there, next race will tell.
Did not install the spacer on the holley intake, didn't even give it a thought, but I don't think it will alow enough hood clearance, just have to measure, its close, when I look in there and close the hood the round cowl induction piece on the bottom of the hood is just above the bottom of my filter base, then hood goes down about one more inch and latches !

Re: Intake Swap

Mac,
A couple of years ago I swapped a fully ported (by Bryce Mulvey of Dr J's Performance) RPM AirGap for a mildly ported (plenium work and gasket matched) Victor Jr. On top of the dual plane was a 1 inch open spacer along with a 1/2 nitrous plate. The Vic Jr has a 1 inch tapered spacer with the N2O plate.
No track times between the two or any dyno testing before and after. I just want to say, this is all seat-of-the pants results, but the low rpms are JUST as responsive than the dual plane and above about 5500 or so there is no comparison. This thing just keeps pulling. It was bouncing off the 7k rev limiter before I knew what was happening. Replaced the chip to abit higher one and this thing pulls hard to 7200. I'm just strictly going by seat-of-the pants results here.

Re: Intake Swap

Darren I had the holley on there before the rebuild, was at 10.2-1 compression, it ran pretty good and like yours would keep pulling past 7200, but, cant keep the belts on it past 7 so that is where I have my limiter set, and I try to shift just before it hits the limiter, I have a stock ss dash and no shift lite and hit the limiter on occasion, after rebuild it now has 11.5-1 compression, it pulls very well it just take a little bit to get moving, a higher stall converter, probably 4500-5000 and it would leave a lot better, but then it would be a pain on the street, and we drive this thing !!
Oh yeah, and just blippin the throttle it seems to rev quicker, almost instantly, if you will.

Don't be afraid of a 5k converter.
Just get a GOOD one! i have a 8" ATI treemaster and it drives totally normal till you mash it!
This is with the correct rear gears of course.

3.08's and 28"+ tires and a 5k converter"s not going to work.

It worked off and on for two years for me...lol.

I think Mac has 4.10's though anyway.

Re: Intake Swap

The strip dominators I have used like the 1" open spacer on them. One strip dominator intake I had years ago had the runner dividers extended to under the carb.

What kind of heat is that thing gonna make on say a 500 mile road trip, the coan I have in it now drives around like grandma's station wagon, mash it and get 1500 or so more rpm, runs very cool, but I also have the cooler in the radiator then a 6 pass then a bigger 6 pass, all that is still in there from when I had the 700r4.

I never took my car a 500 mile trip...but I do beat on it all the time and it has been in there for almost 4 years now and drives like the day I put it in there.
I only have a summit alum rad with NO cooler.
I use 2 cheap Hayden stacked coolers in series in front of my radiator.
My buddy almost has me talked into a 4l80e....but I'm really at attached to passing people like there standing still with no kickdown hooked up.
That and I'm not sure if a converter is available with that stall yet.
I've got to cat ATI and see.
