Thanks for showing all it takes to get something like this done.

You talked me out of my fantasy of doing it myself. Probably saved me a ton of cash and untold hours of labor. I'll just settle for a roll cage in a factory framed ride.

Yes, had two, was going to use the copper one but just wound up salvaging doors, glass and some moldings, found the red one in the mean time and is a better body, copper one had some rust issues, red one used to be a back half car.

Why is it we never have time or money to do it the right way in the beginning but we always have time and money to do it over again?

LMAO, You are very welcome sir !!!! And to think the red body we started with used to BE a back half car and HAD a cage already in it, go figure
On the bright side when we get through with it, it will be ours, and rite, wrong, or otherwise, we (wife and I) , can say that WE built this car from the ground up !!

But if we ever do another one we will probably do just what you stated above

Re: Drag Only Chevelle Build

I have a question on driveline angle, will it hurt anything if the crankshaft centerline is below the pinion centerline, or does the crank centerline have to be above the pinion centerline. getting ready to cut motor and midplates and mock up engine and trans mounts.
Also have conflicting info on engine mounting, should it be level in car at ride hight or tilted slightly down in the rear.

Thanks
