Re: Drag Only Chevelle Build

Also made it to the div 4 finals at Ennis Tx. at the Motorplex, got a new best there of 6.12, car was doing good but we went out in the first round, don't remember what I ran but I do remember the other drivers package was .008, heck my light wasn't even that good.
Here's a pic of the new best at that time in September

Re: Drag Only Chevelle Build

Got a new best two weeks ago at our last race of the season, weather was great, temp 55, OA 1025, humidity 45%, vaper pressure .29, oxygen 29.11%, went 6.01.
Got car "pickled" for the winter, now have to get converter re-stalled as it should be 5800 and only flashes to 5 and starts pulling from 48, also gonna try and paint it this winter to resemble the other car.

Still have not hit it with nitrous yet, maybe next year, also thinking of adding a box and running some super pro classes, not decided yet.
Also got car weighed, 2750 lbs, with me in it, with 1380 lbs on the front and 1370 lbs on the rear, don't know about left and right weight.

6.01, 2750 lbs. and F/R ratio 50/50 is all good Mac. Maybe converter would work good with a hit a nitrous right where it is at. ???

Thanks Jon, yeah we have thought about that but we weren't going to hit it all the time, only put that system on there in hopes of maybe running some 5.90-5.60 index if the car went quick enough on its own which it does, plus 70 mile plus drive to get bottles filled.
We have also thought about getting a scale and gravity flow fill kit and fill our own bottles at home, just too many things going on at once this year, lots of stuff half finished and nothing done ,
also running an ngk br7es plug, its a resister plug, non extended tip, only ngk I can find in non resister and colder is extended tip and I "hear" extended tip plugs are a no no with my compression and nitrous, but im also on methanol, we'll just have to do some more testing,(any track time is good time ) so its all good, and my crew chief enjoys it also.
AND, on a positive note, WE DIDNT TEAR ANYTHING UP , unless we count the tire and wheel that fell off the pickup, bottom of trailer that said tire and wheel tore up, and one bad starter, all before racing even started !!!!!

Why is it we never have time or money to do it the right way in the beginning but we always have time and money to do it over again?

Thanks, yes it was HOT, no relief from it no matter where ya got, and then sittin in the lanes was tough, had one guy go down at the starting line during first round of super pro, he got cooled off, bought back in for second round and won it.
105-110 not so bad but that was a brutal weekend.

What do you think about the spark plug deal, I have colder plugs but they are extended tip.
