Pump Gas 555 4.560 x 4.250...

BBC 555, 4.560 x 4.250" combo, AFR305 heads and Eddy 454R with port work. Custom Straub Solid roller, .690/.650 net.... 257/267 on a 108 with Morel Ultra Pro .842 Lifters. Customer wanted 750HP using pump gas, 10.9 to 1, and some octane booster. Was told he had to sell the AFR305 and get bigger heads. I told him no, keep the heads put a 2.300 intake and blend work, engine builder, Valley Performance Research, did the head work.

Going in a jetboat, but would make a nice street engine.

Why is it we never have time or money to do it the right way in the beginning but we always have time and money to do it over again?

Very nice build Chris. By chance do you have the flow numbers after the head work? Does the 2.300" valve really make that much difference with these 540+ motors? What header size were you using? Thanks in advance.

Chris as usual nice work, motor will rip.
While I never have had Stubb’s motor on a dyno I suspect it would look very similar.😉

I was thinking how this sounded similar to your engine

My way of doing things, LSA is a sum of numbers....it is what it is. I try to satisfy demand by controlling the supply of air in and out with the events needed to open and close the valves. This is all done with math. I've got stuff that idles quite well on tight LSA's.
horton409 and pannetron like this.

Why is it we never have time or money to do it the right way in the beginning but we always have time and money to do it over again?

Don't have the numbers handy. Yes the 2.300 valve does help and it is even limitation at a given rpm range with a given CID. You never want the intake valve to be your restriction.
