Big block chevys are brutally simple in their design. Chevy designed the oiling system to be first class.
Where you run into problems is when you start reading about everything that is wrong with them. Your typical internet Forum will, sooner or later, give you so many things that you have to fix that you wonder how the darned things ever got down the road without self destructing.
Just about any rebuild book will give you the basic bearing clearances and torque values. Adhere to these using quality parts, and you won’t go wrong.
