Performance parts Cheep. What to build options.

Hey guys we are buried under a few feet of snow and all the cars are sleeping. I went to a friend of a friends house the other day who has a 2 bay garage full of performance parts and accessories. Basically a shady character. one of those people that starts 100 projects and finishes none. One thing led to another and I ended up buying most of it for pennies on the dollar. I have it all in my enclosed trailer and am slowly unpacking it and bringing it into my garage. “ took me and 3 friends the entire day Tuesday to load the trailer.” A lot of this stuff is way over my head, and I’ll probably end up selling a lot of it, but I would like to build an engine or two out of the parts and put it in a more designated drag car and sell what I have no use for. As I get through things I’ll post a running list of what I have and details on what exactly things are once I have everything in my garage and can start googling part numbers ect. Any suggestions or information would be very appreciated. So far what I have unloaded is as follows.
1. 2x big m blocks
2. 2x Brodix aluminum blocks sbc and bbc
3. Sbc billet crank and rods.
4. 4x sets of sbc pistons
5. 5x bbc piston sets
6. 12x bbc roller camshafts.
7. 7x sbc roller camshafts
8. 3x bbc forged cranks.
9. 4x sets of forged bbc rods. Oliver/cp Carrillo/scat/ and a unknown set.
10. 3x sets of bbc aluminum rods.
11. 10x copper bbc head gaskets.
12. 6x copper sbc head gaskets
13. 2x Some type of 4 vane belt driven pump. He said it was for fuel oil vacuum and something else.
14. 2x blowers 8/71 and a 10/71
15. 2x Alcohol injection systems. Looks like Enderl. Big bird catcher looking things.
16. Several boxes of iskedarian lifters.
17. 6 carburetors
18. 2x tunnel rams. Bbc and sbc
19. 2 sets of chief cylinder heads.10045429 is what the numbers look like. Bbc. He said they were pro stock heads from 15/20 years ago.
20. 1x set of dart bbc heads. Looks like part number 18475136. Wrapped in plastic in wood boxes.
21. Several sets of timing belts bbc and sbc.
22. Several sets of rockers. Shaft and stud mount. Bbc and sbc. Whole dresser drawer full.

Re: Performance parts Cheep. What to build options.

Cool deal. Hopefully you can put some of that stuff to use. Years ago I got a steal of a deal on a set of BB Mopar race type heads. Didnt really need them, but the deal was "too good to pass up". Before you know it I'm turning my street car into a race car and one change leads to the next... and my great deal on heads cost me thousands in other upgrades!

In your case I think you may have no choice but to start your own race team.

Good on you, sounds like you hit a great score. You can probably sell off half for what you have in it and build some badass engines for free!

Yah Christmas came early for me this year. My fiancť has already asked me two nights in a row what the hell im building in the garage. Today she walked in and said what the hell did you take your cars apart? Just junk everywhere and me running from box to box seeing what everything is and trying to make sure I didn’t over pay. I told her I got it all for 15. Not my fault if she’s assuming 1500...🤔 lol she hasn’t seen the car parked behind the garage yet.... 1970 Camaro all glass all lexan big tire. Was included in the deal. No motor but has a glide and plates. Rolling. Hope I didn’t get in way over my head as I have no idea if a lot of this stuff is going to be of any use at all to me. I just uncovered a box full of 2.5 intake valves. They look like dinner plates compared to my entry level set up in my chevelle. Always wanted to do a big bore small stroke 4.00/4.150 big block with a set of turbos. Think it will be a fun winter project if I can get in touch with the right people and make a 8/9k rpm big block under pressure. Looking at all these parts is just overwhelming. Once I get sorted out I’ll start making some decisions.

Re: Performance parts Cheep. What to build options.

I was told by Muscle Machining & Race Engines and seen the (I think it was alum.?) Brodix BBC block he was getting started on for a 5XX BB that he liked those blocks, build a BB with 1 of those blowers and alky injection if your racing, maybe leave out the alky if street

Nice score.

If you want to go racing, sell the Camaro unless you have a sentimental attachment to it. Competitive, low-10 second turn key race cars can be had for $10,000-15,000. Grudge night or T & T bombers sell for significantly less. Itís generally not worth buying a race car project especially if itís been sitting for more than a couple of years.

As fun as that sounds it’s got to be streetable. And by streetable I mean make it 12 miles to the strip. Yah the Camaro has been sitting for roughly 6-7 years. Full tube chassis. I may sell it if I can find a decent 66/67 gto to make into a racer. We will see. I had my choice between the Camaro and a Vega. But the Vega is ugly as sin in my eyes.

Some of the parts. Coming up with a plan to build something crazy, selling the rest.

Whole dresser drawer full of carbs. Demons dominators pro systems just a few I have actually looked at. 950s 1050s 1200 couple tunnel rams. I haven’t taken inventory and organized it yet. Just trying to get it all out of my trailer little by little after work. I’ll be selling 75% of this stuff. I sold bbc aluminum block this morning and 2 sets of I believe 14 degree small block pistons and one of the sbc billet cranks with ti rods. Give me a little while to get it organized and I’ll have an actual list of what I have. Googling a few part numbers so far has been tedious. Have over 60 bbc pistons. Just trying to pair this stuff all up.
