Why is it we never have time or money to do it the right way in the beginning but we always have time and money to do it over again?

14.5 to 1 565 CID built by Scott Foxwell. It has our 351cc program in a set of AFR castings. 2.375 Intake/1.85 Exhaust. All motor. It made 1020HP on the dyno.

Wow ! Wow ! That is the most impressive NA hp vs. CI that I have seen. The 1/4 mile clip was also awesome. Great work ! Congrats to all !

Re: Donnie Edmond's 3700# 69' all motor....

Thank you guys.....Donnie is very stoked....those that know the car she is one nice ride like many of your own cars. The best pass the car had ever made as a compression 565 with a set of Dart 355 was a 9.36. He is short shifting now getting use to the new power. Goal was to run 9.00's....I think in mineshaft air she will go 8's. Those of you that understand what it takes to get "lead sleds" down the track understand the work he has put into this combination.

Re: Donnie Edmond's 3700# 69' all motor....

This was a fun build. This was the top end off Troy LaCrone's drag week engine. AFR heads with my ports and chambers, Sniper intake, Harland Sharp shaft rocker system with big pushrods, Wiseco gas ported pistons with .043/.043/3mm rings, Dart block, good crank and rods...and some other go-fast goodies. This engine dyno'd at 1003hp @ (not 1020) but that was with a vac pump that wasn't working. After going through two Aerospace pumps, he finally ended up with a Moroso 3 vane and pulling 18", so I'd say the engine is easily making 1025-1030hp in it;s current configuration. Also to note; he's running it through a full exhaust system. This dyno pull (below) was the second of a set of back to back pulls to verify timing so the engine was on the hot side. It made 804 lbs/ft a few pulls before. Pretty sure we'll be able to get this 3700# Chevelle into the 8's when all said and done.

A lot of people say just get an junkyard 5.3 with a turbo and it will go 8's and 9's easy. It one thing to do it that way but to run those ET's and mph N/A makes it special, not a lot of people can say that. Props to you on running those impressive times.

Re: Donnie Edmond's 3700# 69' all motor....

that's what I'd call a clean launch. no muss, no fuss, just gone. whole pass was like that. 1.3 60' in a heavy car, better than good.

I have seen Donnie run at NMCA in Norwalk a few times. That is one well prepped, beautiful Chevelle. Nice to see he got together with the Straub/Foxwell team!
