Gene, that's the same intake that I put on my 75 C20 last summer when I did a HR cam swap. I measured it to my Edelbrock Performer RPM Q-jet and the port sizes and carb height were all identical. At first I thought it might be a little big for my basically stock motor and the small cam I went with but it works very well.

Good deal Jeff ! Mark is basically building me a stock 396. Wont need much. Even going to shoot it orange ( w/ black bowtie, of course) Also have to pull the SS427 Impala emblems off and put the ORIGINAL SS396 emblems back on.

Check out my purchase price. 1/10 of a grand. Good deal as long as Mark doenst find anything wrong with it. Going to ask him to shoot it orange along with rest of engine anyhow. Stealth. 325/396 style.

Shop well!

Nice score! You gonna have Mark dyno it with a Qjet?

Re: I think I want to try a good quadrajet

Update:

I ended up going with a street demon. I doubt it's going to get quite the mileage as a quadrajet would, but it seems to have improved over the 850 dp, and I'm not done tuning yet. I say "seems" to because I haven't done a mileage calculation with it since it's not dialed in yet. It needs more accelerator pump shot and considerably leaner light throttle cruise. I got a new job recently and haven't had time to tune it further. The choke works well on it, and the hot start manners are WAY better than the holley. Anyway, I just wanted to update you guys.

Did you put the nuts on the valve covers? There is 1 or 2 missing in your pic.
