Eagle Field 2018

Took my car to Eagle Field in Firebaugh, California on Sunday. Been there many times. Some good 1/8 mile drag racing, run what you brung type stuff. The track is an old air field and the races are 1/8 mile. I only made 2 passes because I blew a header gasket. On the first pass I left in 2nd gear at 50% throttle and went full throttle for just the last second. It ran 6.857 at 108MPH. On the second pass I also left in 2nd gear at 50% throttle and after about 2 seconds, went full throttle. It ran 6.63 at 113mph. After the first pass I noticed a small exhaust leak. After the 2nd pass the exhaust leak was huge! It blew out a chunk of the gasket. The track was hooking and I was ready to try launching in 1st gear, but I was not going to run my car with a huge exhaust leak. Here's the video.

Sounded sweet! How much boost? What gears are in it? Seems to do pretty good on the 2nd gear start!

Thanks! It has 4.10 gears in the rear. It left pretty good for part throttle in 2nd. It would have accelerated harder in 1st but traction might have been a problem. Boost was at 18 pounds.

Hi Ron,

I've taken my Nova a few times and its a good time.. I probably wouldn't take a car of your caliber since its pretty much a dust bowl dirt lot without any asphalt or concrete to drive on. Just the concrete air runway.

Thanks Todd. Sounds similar to Kingdon drags here in Lodi.

The owner of the Z is a good friend of mine and tuned my car. He went back to OKC with the car about 2 weeks ago. Here's a video of him doing a huge wheelie on the street.
