Re: recommend a performance balancer

Seems a sbc calls for several ones....here are three....all internal balanced. One starts at 6.325", the next at 7.074", and another at 8".

How do you determine which one. Can you go with the smaller one if you have been using a 8"?

67 chevelle malibu / SS/ custom

Currently undergoing a metal work to remove all rust, if I ever get there.

Cant decide on prostreet or cruiser with a 4 speed.

Yes you can.. they are all internal balance...the bigger the balancer the better the dampning... powerbond 1012SS is a nice balancer. You'll need a different timing tab.

best regards
Jack

ATI is supposedly the best, but will turn brown over time and corrode (white chalk fuzz) if not constantly wiped down with light oil or kept in a climate controlled garage.

Iíll be switching to an Innovators West.

Re: recommend a performance balancer

I would have never believed it, but I saw the results on a BB Chev back-to-back test from 7" ATI to 8" ATI. NO other change...the 8" made almost 40 more HP. Just something to think about.

So does that mean we should avoid the 7" or was this just for this particular combo?
