Re: RIP Big Joe Sherman

Wow hate to hear that. He was sort of the "low buck- get it done" sort of guy. Hot Rod's coverage of his stuff in the 70's and 80's was legendary.

One time while I was in CA I had to go find his shop. It's always interesting to see the small little places that big things come from. Obviously it was what he had in his head that made it all work.

RIP Joe.

Very sad. I liked his short, crisp, to-the-point replies on ST.

That is sad to hear. He was definitely one that when he talked about engines, you listened because what he was saying was proven.

Re: RIP Big Joe Sherman

RIP Joe Sherman
He sure made a lot of contributions to the drag racing hobby and certainly knew how to build a stout motor and set up a car.
He used to post here on TC many years ago.

Here is Joe's 1970 Chevelle that he raced in the mid 70's
This car ran 9's over 145 MPH with a 468 fed by twin dominators and it had no front brakes. And a stock rear suspension.
Pro Stock guys were afraid of match racing this car.
