Unhappy 67 Chevelle rear tail light bezel install question

Im trying to install my rear tailight bezels along with the red tail light lenses. When I put the lens
into the bezel and push the assembly into the rear light housing the red lens is flopping around inside the bezel.
How do I get this assembly to be snug in there??? Im using new rubber tail light bezel gaskets from
soft seal with this install.
If anyone has experience with this issue can you give me a heads up.

thanks

Re: 67 Chevelle rear tail light bezel install question

There should be another gasket between the lens and the taillight housing, which will push the lens out to where it is squeezed in tight by the bezel.

I think I remember using 2 gaskets to make it tight.

I also had to use 2 gaskets to make the lens stay put. One of the very few pieces of trim that I did not have restored were the chrome plated bezels that hold the lenses in the tail lamp housings. The repros aren't quite the same, surprise surprise !

Were those repop lens gaskets or originals? The originals are pretty fat and sort of gummy. Not that cheap flimsy white foam stuff they sell as repop for most lenses.
