1970 El Camino. I will remove the old top, clean and prepare the surface underneath, repair rust etc. Thanks for any guidance....

Re: What should I pay for vinyl top replacement?

I paid $500 in labor recently about two months or so ago for my vinyl top to be installed plus a $100 tip here in Shreveport, Louisiana. And it was worth every penny because he removed a few trim dents and re-used my mega-rare vinyl top window drip edge trim. Every other piece of window and edge trim was perfectly installed and it was a one day job.

This price was with me providing the vinyl top materials kit from OPGI.

I was guessing $650!

Did either of you have rust repair issues under the vinyl?

Mine was after a 120 day old paint and clear coat. The roof was good, put full quarters on.

Re: What should I pay for vinyl top replacement?

The only difference in the install price between an EC and a full sized roof would be the extra glue expense . . . pennies. The skills are the same, window trim the same. The price of the kit for the extra material is a little higher but I don't believe its quite double the cost.

Re: What should I pay for vinyl top replacement?

When you get the top done,,,,,,,,, Do not forget ,,,, The V-Top under the bottom of the El Camino window, Should have the SAME seam location as the top seams. Get a yard stick and make sure the ( under the window) seams have the same spacing as the top seams.
