67 Trunk lid misfit

Working on my 67 trunk lid fitment.

Car has two new quarters and a new rear deck panel.

Trunk lid is original GM.

Quarters are fit up pretty well and the deck piece fit's good and lines up with the quarters on both sides.

Started working on the fitting up the trunk lid and here is where it sits.

Forward and backwards the lid fits really well and lines up with the tail light housings and the latch and the gap between the deck panel and the trunk lid is good.

Side to side isn't quite where I want it but it's within 1/8" of so of being where I want it.

As you can see from the pics the middle of the trunk is flush with the deck panel but edges on the driver and passenger side sit 3/16" - 1/4" below the quarters on either side.

It looks like the trunk lid has a different arc than the deck panel and quarter panel.

It looks like the front of trunk lid, closets to the deck panel, needs to come up on the drivers and passenger side but when I shim the trunk hinges the middle of the lid comes up and doesn't line up anymore once I get the ends of the trunk to line up.

I can get either the middle of the trunk lid lined up or the ends but not both.

Any thoughts on how to go about fixing this?

Sorry about the level in the pictures. I was trying to figure out how much drop was needed to get the trunk to line up.

Thanks for any help anyone can provide!

Re: 67 Trunk lid misfit

Your new weatherstrip will raise the decklid some also.
I would fit the weatherstip without adhesive...then move forward
with decklid adjustments. Not a cure all but may help get you closer
to where you want to be.
