1970 Chevelle Hood Adjustment

I have an issue with my 70 Chevelle hood. The passenger side rear is raised. I know I have seen before that you need to do the opposite of what you think to adjust. Some years ago I tried this on my drivers side and wound up putting a large scratch on fender. Thanks for any help! Ed

Ed -

Basically the passenger hinge needs to be adjusted up. Like you said, it's kind of counter-intuitive, but that will cause it to close further which in turn will drop it.

If I remember correctly, my hood moved like that after it was painted. I loosened the forward bolt on the hinge, then lifted the open hood slightly higher to rotate on the rear hinge bolt. Then tighten and check fit. Repeat as required

One thing I always do is use 2 hands to raise the hood evenly. If you raise using one hand on a side, the hood tends to cock slightly when raised.

Once in a while, the issue is that it just needs some lubricant...
