Central Ca Bodyshops

I live out here in Hollister and I went by two different body shops to see about painting my chevelle in the black gold Smokey tribute car from Talladega nights. The first shop said he’s wasn’t sure if he wanted to get into a project like this. And the second shop said they were too busy but they didn’t recommend me going anywhere else.

I’m not off to a good start. I know it has some rust and stuff but really?

Looks like Rod Powell is still open in Salinas. I used to fantasize about them painting my car.

I know it's little far but check with Marc at Strictly Muscle Hobby Shop in Sacramento. He painted my Chevelle, and did bunch of bodywork on it. I am very happy with results and the price he charged.

I donít think heís done anything other than a little pinstriping in many years.

OP: try Maciels on West Market in Salinas. They did a complete on a Ď37 Chev. coupe for me a few years ago and it came out great. Not many shops will take on a project. The money is in quick collision repairs.

Re: Central Ca Bodyshops

how nice of a paint job do you want? I know someone in Los banos. Car needs to be running/driving. He doesn't do complete restorations just paint jobs /color changes. Been doing it>50 years. Yup >65 years old, retired, self employed, paints at home, but cheap and does a nice driver paint job (see my 1964 TEMPEST LS1 Post)
