Aftermarket replacement frame ?

Anyone used one ? Different brands ? Looking for a friend who has a 69 or 70 Buick that needs a frame or some serious frame straightening. Nothing modified, strictly stock.

Thanks,

This guy straightened my 69 frame, he has a jig set up and does all kinds of frames, plus blast and powdercoat.

Re: Aftermarket replacement frame ?

Bill, how far away are you looking for a frame? There is a guy here in Florida that probably would send you a good used one and then you could go over the welds, box it, and then blast it and paint.

Cant decide on prostreet or cruiser with a 4 speed.

Aaron,
The guy that needs it is here in the Washington DC area. Really dont need to do any boxing or other modifications, just need a stock frame.

Re: Aftermarket replacement frame ?

I'd look for a el Camino frame and shorten it in the back.. They are massive compared to the car frames.

Try Sundell Specialties in NC and here in Florida try looking for Old Gold Car and Parts.

That will only work for 1964-67's where they all had a 115" wheelbase.

1968-1972 El Camino frame will only work if the Buick is a 4-door - both have a 116" wheelbase. The 2-door Buick A-Body had a 112" wheelbase and the Sport Wagon was 121" fwiw.

So that one has damage in the rear which is exactly why my friend is replacing his

I was really looking for feedback on the aftermarket frames, not on used stuff but I guess nobody here has used one yet.

Re: Aftermarket replacement frame ?

Theres a upullit in NE PA that may sell a frame.

I know they have a couple stripped 2 door A bodies there...

Google ezpull in new ringgold

Ask if they sell a frame in their upullit lot.

Then drive up and get it.

If that dont work, try Klingers in pine grove.

Re: Aftermarket replacement frame ?

Ok,
This is my last reply. My friend is not interested in a used frame. He is going to buy a new replacement. All I was asking was for some feedback on the several replacement frames that are available. Apparently nobody here has used them so I will have to ask elsewhere to get an answer

If I ever hear of someone looking for used stuff I will refer them to this thread.
