My restoration is reenforcing the following theories, nothing is easy, donít take shortcuts, and measure twice cut once! Frustrating as hell sometimes as I hate to be delayed because of someone elseís lack of time management skills.

Enjoy the ride!

Re: Not moving fast, but moving

I've had these quarter panels for 31 years and this weekend i finally got them installed permanently.
This is one of the most rewarding events of restoring this car so far!
I spot welded the tail light panel on.
I spot welded as much of the quarter that I could and plug welded the rest.
I use 3M Panel Bond where the rocker meets the quarter, around the wheel opening and at the trunk drop offs.

Re: Not moving fast, but moving

You have far more patience than me. Iíve been so frustrated at some projects in the past that Iíve taken a Sawzall to them and sold them for parts. Then again, thatís when you could make a killing versus selling many complete cars.

Re: Not moving fast, but moving

I have to say very nice!

Congrats on your progress.

If you don't mind me asking what brand of epoxy primer are you using and how do you like it? How does it spray?

Second question if you don't mind me asking is what are you using for a spot welder? I've looked at a couple of different ones but have not pulled the trigger on buying one.

Thanks!
