Re: 72 stripe correct help

Hopefully someone with more knowledge of this will chime in but I've read where different plants put stripes on with rounded outside corners and some were squared corners.

Here ya go.......1970 Chevelle D88 Stripes
Here's some taping tips, but use your own measurements. In this one they made some stripes thicker or incorrect.https://www.hotrod.com/articles/5-ti...ipes-like-pro/

Re: 72 stripe correct help

Here's a good article on the 70. Looking for some survivor 72 SS with stripes. Notice the factory stripes were not always perfect....https://www.hotrod.com/articles/icon...as-since-1980/

More pictures ....To me the squared inside and rounded outsides always looked correct, until I learned of the square square design. I think you'll find more Chevelles with the square inside and rounded outside stripe in existence, this leads many outsiders to consider the squared inside and rounded outsides to be correct.

For 1971, At least thru early January, for some reason, the stripes from Arlington continued to have squared corners as opposed to rounded outside corners the other plants applied. By 72 They went to the round....still looking for more proof to confirm this......1971 Chevelle SS Towards bottom of page.

Ya got me going on stripes. Chevrolet Chevelle and Nova - Know Your Stripes, Part 2 - Super Chevy

Then when you run out of material, you can break out your 72 AIM, Factory Assembly Manual, for more inspiration or direction. see arrachment.

Cool, "most people" would consider that design correct as it appears more often in the wild.
