Plastic Inner Fender?

I am installing Dii plastic inner fenders on my 69.
They don't fit good at all, some holes don't even come close to lining up.
Is there a different brand that you guys have any experience with that have a better fit?
Any help appreciated!
Thanks!!

Re: Plastic Inner Fender?

Sherlock says:
Unless your plastic inner fenders are stamped " MADE IN CANADA ". Or, your steel inner fenders are Org. made by G.M.
It aint a bolt in, They may in time fit your car. "" IF "" You have the time to HAND CRAFT the fit. For the most part. A lot of Reproduction parts are not a sure fit like the OEM stuff.
Chances are, A lot of reproduction are designed to year specific automobiles. One must give the off/shore companys KUDOS ! WHY?
Your new SPECIAL plastic inner fenders for your Chevelle may also fit, A 1947 Hudson or a 1960 Thunderbird or a 1970 HEMI Charger. Check out the inner fenders on a 2017Corvette. Who Knows.
I do not like the word " Reproduction ". I do like the wording " We have parts that might fit your car ". Now that would be " Truth in advertising ".

Re: Plastic Inner Fender?

A friend of mine bought a set from the Parts Place for his 70 and he ran into the same problem with not fitting right. They were advertised as being made by them and fit better than other brands. I guess it should have said fits perfect than fits better.

The Plastic OEM Inners are very different from the Metal OEM Inners. The Reproduction Inners are made using the Metal OEM Inners as a mold. The just don't fit.

Wow, who was the rocket scientist that thought that was going to work ?? I always thought the plastic inners was not a good idea when they first appeared but HEY, the pieces of plastic will still be laying on the ground when the rest of the car returns to the earth.

No doubt some businessperson in Taiwan thought it would be easy and inexpensive.

If I were in the market to buy a pair, I'd get them from AutoMetal Direct (AMD shows the RH Inners are "Out-of-Stock ).
