The first time I tried to bleed the brakes on my '69 I was forced to disconnect the front to rear line and blow it out with compressed air -- I was shocked when a wad of crap came out of the line. The line was totally blocked (and I'd just driven the car 11 hundred miles on Interstates)!

Just an idea "outside the box," so to speak.
