I would wire wheel off to bare metal whatever I decided was to my liking.
Now is the time to clean up as much as you choose while you can stand in there
and your reach is better and easier.
Keep at it!
Some feathering with sandpaper and scuff pad. Then 2K primer.
Most will probably recommend epoxy primer.
Then hope not to have any lifting around the edges of the stuff that did not get stripped.
You will be a proud owner of a very nice trunk when done.
Perfection is in the eye of the beholder and most are not going give a rats butt
about something that wont be seen.
However, I do understand the pride when doing stuff to the best of our ability.
