It was similar when I helped my brother change the headlight assemblies on his Avalanche. It would be near impossible to change some of the bulbs in there without pulling the headlight assembly out first and to do that you have to remove the grill and other smaller pieces. Ridiculous. My old 85 MR2 was easier to work on and it was a very tightly packaged little machine.
