Re: RIP Leon Russel

I just heard that today as well. They are playing a bunch of his tunes on the radio today. He wrote a ton of songs and was a musician for many rock legends. What I didn't know was he was partially paralyzed from a childhood vertebrae issue. It affected his right hand playing and he had to compensate by "thinking ahead" while playing, to stay in time with the song....that's not easy to do... RIP Mr Russell

Re: RIP Leon Russel

What a shocker. Just last week I was researching his career at allmusic.com. He truly was talented and I loved his Southern drawl. I've been liking his stuff since I first heard "Lady Blue" back in 1975.

Man, it has been a year of heavy losses within the music industry for the old guard.

RIP Mr. Russel, and may your music and influence live on.
