Fire !!

Entire city of Fort McMurray here 80,000 people evacuated due to forrest fire in and around the city. Neighborhoods, hotels, gas stations even hospital on fire. One neighborhood has lost 80% of it homes. That was yesterday...today things are suppose to get even worse. 30c or 90f and high winds, everything dry.

As of 5min ago, 1600 structures affected so far with no end in sight. Fire approaching next community of Thickwood, is next community to the one that lost the 80%. We already lost a entire city of Slave Lake 5yrs ago, not no small city gone

Military has been called in to assist as well as firefighter from all over Alberta. From all indications it will get worse!

Stay safe, we lost over 280,000 acres in one fire not to far from where we live.
Luckily it stayed out of densely populated areas.

re: Fire !! - Prayers for our friends in Alberta

Military finally being sent to Fort Mac. WTF has taken so long? If it was the eastern liberal voting provinces of Ontario or Quebec it would have been done already. That idiot we have for a Prime Minister was sure in no hurry to send assistance to a right wing conservative province where he gets few votes. Add to that he is a poorly informed, tree hugging, oilsands hating, antigun rhetoric spewing, liberal, moron, trust fund baby. Unfrickingbelievable.

Levon, Is this terrible fire anywhere near your previous property? That is an awful situation, I thought about you when I saw the area effected. Take care.

Re: Prayers for our friends in Alberta

I was in Edmonton over the weekend. Just saw the news today on Ft Mac. What a disaster. Not like that town isnt already suffering over the oil industry lay offs. Damn.
