Re: Walmart restricts shoppers

I live about 80 miles south east of Reno, small town, 3,200 people, 4,500 in the whole Mason Valley. I serve on a county board, Chairman of the Mason Valley Citizens Advisory Board, part of the Lyon county Board of County Commissioners.

Panic hit here as well, all 4 stores, a Raley's (home of the highest price leader), Family Dollar, Dollar General, and one small Paiute Indian Store.

Last week, we had a briefing that persons from as far away as Las Vegas have come here, and into Reno, Carson City to find and hoard everything in sight. There was also info that people in Las Vegas and surroundings were getting into fist fights for the last one of an item, even if it was damaged.

Me, I just go out and pick it off the vine and eat well. Raley's started carrying organic stuff, trying to switch people over, profit margin is high for that stuff here. Nobody told them that if we really want organic, we simply go oout the back door, and pick it off our own vines, trees, etc. If we don't have it, our neighbor does, and we share.

All the stores here have paperless hot air hand driers in their rest rooms, but, the rest rooms are now all closed. People were ripping the driers off the wall and trying to steal them, sneak them out the store doors. If it weren't so sick, it would be hilarious.

Me, I don't buy toilet paper, I do it "Dave's way". In my bathroom, the toilet is right next to the full shower, long sliding doors. So, I just finish, and make sure I ain't drippin', side step one step, and am in the shower, oh, no, better, the giant bidet with remote shower head. I don't advise anyone do that, unless you have what I installed, those large tubing hand hold supports. I have two rolls of toilet paper at the toilet, been there for two years, can't wait for some hoarder to break in looking for toilet paper, I need more target practice.

Cleaning/restocking is a good reason for Walmart and other stores to close part of the day.

Re: Walmart restricts shoppers

We went to one of the local Wal Marts around 10:30 am today, no trouble getting in, normal Saturday crowd, and the only thing they did not have was hand soap and eggs, plenty of toilet paper. There were some people in masks, but not as many as I thought there would be.

Re: Walmart restricts shoppers

Official Walmart press release.......https://corporate.walmart.com/newsro...ial-distancing

Costco has also limited 1 shopper per membership allowed in the store. They are also limiting the number of people allowed in the store at one time. Once they reach their limit, a line forms and shoppers are let in on a one to one basis. One exits, one goes in.

restocking must be hard during a pandemic, they are hiring overnight stockers.

PS I pulled the zombie go to wally world duty, and wanted to lop a guys head off for coughing without even thinking of covering his mouth. Too bad coronoa doesnt attack the stupid and self-absorbed only, We'd be alot better off afterwards.

That said some taco decided he didnt need to follow the proper route out of the store and thought he would buzz right by me for his shortcut. wrong.lol

Re: Walmart restricts shoppers

This isn't Walmart but we have been ordering online from Chewy for items for our dogs. If I order early enough I have it the next day. They sent us a notice even though everything is in stock the wait is about 7 to 10 days now.

Or use your finger and wipe your finger off with half as much toilet paper.

Re: Walmart restricts shoppers

trying to use Inta cart instead of going to a WalMart, doesn't work very well. Order sent to wrong store for delivery and now they want to cancel the order.

Me too. People are stupid, hoarding TP and paper towels. No food in stores. People need to prepare for stuff. We are in good shape, chickens pushing out eggs, freezers full of food and plenty of country fresh air. We won't be caught low on paper products again.
