Post Tom Brady leaving the Pats ...Your thoughts ?

This is the pre-word & If you hate sports or football PLEASE JUST IGNORE THIS THREAD and also this too ...
I want to forward this with, this is just news that is really meaningless versus the corona outbreak which is life and death and much more important type news.

But just to pass the time what are your thoughts on Tom Brady leaving the Patriots ? If this were normal times without any outbreak this news would have been at the top of the news bureau's and on page one but the corona v relegated his story to page 4 or 5.

TB signed with the Tampa Bay Bucs ???????????? What why them & Why there ? They do have a good line and a couple of pro bowl receivers ? and a so-so defense, along with a top coach,so maybe his ego wants a Super Bowl win with an NFC team ? he would be the only QB with SB wins in both sides of the NFL.

So assuming you're a football fan what's your thoughts ?

Re: Tom Brady leaving the Pats ...Your thoughts ?

My thoughts? I知 a life long Pats fan since I was born. I remember rooting for them when they were the laughingstock of the NFL. I still feel the pain of 18-0 ending as 18-1. But 3 more Lombardis help dull that pain.

I say good for him. He left on his own terms. After hearing what痴 been coming out between him and Bill, and knowing how Bill is ruthless, Tom clearly wanted to go on his own terms, which were now at odds with Bill.

As far as I知 concerned, Brady is the GOAT, no question for me. Everyone had their opinion, that痴 mine. I知 glad he was on my favorite team. I enjoyed watching him play. I still will.

Every weekend now I値l have two teams to root for. My dream now is that sometime in the next two years, we get a Pats/Bucs Super Bowl. Because then I値l be so conflicted who I知 rooting for I値l be apoplectic.

BTW - from the movie 典he Town.

Re: Tom Brady leaving the Pats ...Your thoughts ?

Going to be working with a better offense and if they can add a couple pieces on D they might be decent. A guy you either love or hate which is funny but I always have a soft spot for the 'old' guys that are not supposed to be able to compete any more. Lost a few yards off his throwing but no one can question his football smarts. They might end up in the mix at playoff time.
Thanks for the post. Good to think about other stuff for a change.
Sports is supposed to give you a bit of a break from the real world, not working so well this year with everything shut down.

Re: Tom Brady leaving the Pats ...Your thoughts ?

Steve glad my team was able to help you with that 18-1 thing but here's something for you Tom Brady fans to look at.To be honest I only watched the first 8 minutes but I'll watch the rest,I'm waiting to see how the rest of the minutes goes as the first part was great.

In my eyes Brady is the GOAT and unless he was playing the Giants I always rooted for the old bastard. No one ever gave that guy anything,he's had to earn all that he got so he gets my respect.
Hope you enjoy this.

Re: Tom Brady leaving the Pats ...Your thoughts ?

I wish he was coming to play for the 49ers... Absolutely nothing against Garoppolo, but I just think it would be cool to play for the "home" team where he grew up...

I am conflicted. I was never a true Pats fan, but I always wanted Brady to win... Not sure I could get into the Buc's... But really, its because we went to the same high school (11 years apart though) You know that "6-degrees of separation" stuff...

Like him or not, he will be the big $$ draw to wherever he winds up,

and story is a boost to the flailing NFL.

When the much-hated Phil Esposito was traded from the Boston Bruins to the NY Rangers,

suddenly all was forgotten.

Re: Tom Brady leaving the Pats ...Your thoughts ?

Here are my thoughts:

ANY NFL QB is really only as good as his O-line will allow him to be. For years Brady was in a good system with a good coach and a good supporting cast. And yes there were times where I felt that his level of play could elevate the players around him, but even the best QB's in the league can only hit their receivers when the line gives them time.

Part of that is having a balanced offense. You need a strong run game as well as a good O-line. In my opinion, last year Brady showed some signs of decline. He just wasn't the QB he once was. Now some of that could be as a result of his O-line but he's now 40 and in NFL football, that's old.

My feeling is that he probably won't ever be the QB he once was but his name will force teams to play him a certain way which could lead him to success. I highly doubt that his presence does much to help the Bucs though. For right now, I still see the Saints as the team to beat in that division....as long as Brees is the QB.

Being a fellow Patriot fan I have to disagree with your feeling. Yes I agree he was the GOAT. Not too sure he will carry that to Tampa. I think at his age he would have been better off going out like Big Pappi did and we Bostonian's loved the hell out of him and still do. I think Brady owed it to his fans and himself to leave as the GOAT as a Patriot and end it that way. Oh and who to root for going forward "Once a Pat fan always a Pat fan", there is your answer
