C 8 or 69 SS Convertible ?

I have a deposit on C 8 and own (IMO) super nice Chevelle.

The C 8 is a world class sports car, reliable, A/C, fast, great stereo, retractable hardtop.

Most here know what a Chevelle is 😁

Which one for you ?

Re: C 8 or 69 SS Convertible ?

Really, REALLY, REALLY??????????????????????????

I do not have a C8 (don't want one-----------would sell it if given to me), but I have a Chevelle convertible (factory air cond, PS, PB, tilt, cruise, CI hood, 406, M22, 12bolt posi) and a Corvette.
MOST of the time, the Chevelle gets the nod of choice for driving.

Clearly these are two different animals. Both have unique characteristics. I say you need both. All depends on how you want to drive on that nice day?

Re: C 8 or 69 SS Convertible ?

I like the idea of a new CorvetteÖ BUT...

If I had the money to buy one, I'd buy an older, classic Corvette instead.

Modern performance is great, but for me, I don't want a depreciating asset unless I am using it a LOT...

Re: C 8 or 69 SS Convertible ?

I don't have a C8, but I did buy a low mile C6 a few months ago with the idea of selling off the Chevelle and simplifying things, but it's just so hard to let go of it. If you can, keep both. If money isn't a problem, you can always get another Chevelle.

Re: C 8 or 69 SS Convertible ?

Donít know what you are asking. Is it one or the other? If that is the question then the answer is easy, itís the Chevelle. If the choice is to add the corvette then sure, why not.

C8 for me, but honestly, I'd rather go with a cheap C6 and spend the difference on the racing budget.

Re: C 8 or 69 SS Convertible ?

To me if you put a nice 67 BB, A/C Corvette next to a C8 and said take your pick I would go for the 67. I've tried a few of the newer era of muscle cars (05 Mustang GT and a 09 Challenger R/T) but went back to my current and most likely last toy a 71 Malibu. I don't have the money or do I care about ever owning a C8 Corvette. I haven't liked the styling of Corvettes in years. I don't know how you plan to use the car everyday driver or just a toy but if you could have both of them that's what I would do.

Re: C 8 or 69 SS Convertible ?

Iím only 62 so technically not old enough to own a late model Corvette. J/K.
(Not)
Plus I have all of my own hair and am allergic to cold chains. J/K.
(Still not)
I would take a Chevelle anytime.
